Session: Workshop

24/10/2013

Designing emotions through gesture based interfaces.

In this hands-on workshop you will learn how a gesture based interface can influence a user's emotions. You will also experiment how it is possible to induce moods, feelings, and also behaviours through an interface that forces specific posture or requires specific gestures. And finally you will practice and test what you've learned designing a mood-changing interface. We normally read other people's feelings through their body language: it is possible to feel our mood from our posture, our breath and our gestures. But the connection between our body and our mind is not read-only, it works in both ways: breath, posture and gestures have an impact on our mood.
